Is your cat spraying?
Does your
cat use the house as a toilet?
Cats start to spray in
the house and soil in the home for lots of different reasons.
For example if the cat has cystitis this may cause the cat
to strain and release small amounts of urine all over the
home. A dirty litter tray can also cause a cat to spray. Do
you empty it regularly?
Cats will not use a heavily
soiled tray so this can cause them to urinate elsewhere. Maybe
you have no cat flap, or the cat is afraid of something outside
and refuses to go out - perhaps your cat is afraid of a neighbour's
dog.
If your cat has not been
castrated, he may be 'scent marking'. He may need to be house
trained to learn to use the litter tray.
Cats do like a clean, natural
habitat and, like all pets, they need lots of human contact.
If your cat is showing any of this behaviour, please do contact
me and I will happily asses him.
